Accommodation, Flights & Transport

Team travel arrangements in one section.

Transport Rules

1. All racers arrange their own transport.
2. Arranged accommodation is walkable to the race site.
3. Airport transfers: use e-hailing.
4. Recommended: Grab — same app as Singapore; region auto-detected; card payment available.
5. Alternative: AirAsia Move — local e-hailing app; card payment available.
Important: To reduce risk of being scammed, the source pack advises the team not to use hailed taxis.

Getting Around

  • Penang includes the Island and Mainland; the race venue is on the Island.
  • Save the race venue and accommodation addresses before arrival.
  • Use Grab or AirAsia Move for airport transfers and local journeys.
  • Allow extra travel time during peak periods and around lunch or dinner.
  • Share rides with teammates where practical and confirm the pickup point in advance.
Traffic pattern: Weekday mornings are generally busier north → south and Mainland → Island; weekday evenings are generally busier south → north and Island → Mainland.
